Newsworthy Information!!
For over 40 years, Wainwright Dance Academy has been bringing the artistry and discipline of dance to its members in Wainwright and the surrounding area. WDA currently offers classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, and variety for both recreational and competitive students ages 3 and up. We offer Royal Academy of Dance, Alberta Dance
Educators Association, and Canadian Dance
Teachers certified dance training. Our instructors
bring a wealth of experience and training to our
dancers. Some of our current instructors are
actually WDA alumni and some of our dancers are
second generation. Our supportive dance families
and wonderful volunteers are also an important
part of our success. Classes commence each year
in September, and then, after months of
practicing technique and learning choreography,
our dancers begin their competitive season in the
spring. Last year we travelled to festivals and
competitions in Fort Saskatchewan, Cold Lake,
Camrose, and Vermilion. Our annual recital, held
on the Mother’s Day weekend in May, celebrates the growth and achievement of our dancers and marks the end of our regular dance season; however, the opportunities offered to our members are not restricted to our regular season!
